Documentation Management: Preparing, verifying, and submitting import/export documents such as Bills of Lading, invoices, Packing Lists, and Certificates of Origin.Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring all shipments comply with local customs laws, tariff rates, and import/export restrictions.Classification and Valuation: Classifying goods under the correct HS codes and calculating duties and taxes.Coordination: Liaising with customs officials, port authorities, freight forwarders, and warehouse personnel to track shipments and secure timely release.Problem-Solving: Handling inspections, clearing cargo delays, and resolving disputes with authorities.

Knowledge of Customs Systems: Familiarity with electronic customs platforms (e.g., NAFEZA in Egypt).Logistics Expertise: Understanding of supply chain management, shipping, and port operations.Attention to Detail: Precision in documentation is critical to avoid fines.Communication Skills: Effective communication with internal teams and external authorities.Experience: Often requires 3-5+ years of experience in logistics or clearance, particularly for senior positions.
